"I am writing to express my deepest thanks for your generous gifts from the Frisco Family Services Organization. I wish to THANK YOU for the help that you provided to me such as the financial, food and moral support that I needed to continue my mission to be self-supported once again. I can see myself moving forward and hope to soon become a volunteer at Frisco Family Services. I will do everything I can to give back so you can continue to help other needy people.
I really had NOTHING but a Social Security Disability Check of $1072.00 and my rent is $940.00, leaving me with not enough funds to pay my basic living expenses.
Now, I must praise Ms. Doris Corova, she was the first person I met at the center. It was a very hard time for me to walk up to the counter and I was embarrassed. I began to cry and she transformed into Mother Teresa.
Now, I must praise Ms. Nickie Contreas, my case manager. Through her leadership and moral support, I have become a strong person and will soon be self-supported once again.
Frisco Family Service Staff Members have demonstrated their deep commitment to your organization in working to feed the hungry, providing shelter resources to families for the homeless, etc.
Frisco Family Services has repeatedly in the last year given me the support I needed and played a key role in my success to be self-supported once again.
May God continue to bless each and every one of you." -FFS Client

Frisco Family Services is so thankful to our generous supporters and community partners who are committed to helping those in need in our communities.
- Transamerica (pictured above with Executive Director Nicole Bursey): Donated a generous gift to Frisco Family Services on Wednesday, May 8. We're so thankful to them for their partnership and commitment to helping those in their community.
- Roach Middle School: From their Hoops 4 Hope Program, Roach Middle School students donated $7,500 to Frisco Family Services on Friday, May 3. Students purchased wristbands for $15 that allowed them to participate in a variety of activities, such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, 7 on 7 football, Teacher vs. Staff basketball game, and a bounce house obstacle course. Jimmy Davis, strength and conditioning/PE Teacher said the money was raised by giving the students an opportunity to do something bigger than themselves. He wanted the students to feel as though they are a part of something special and helping those in need is just that. "It has been great to see the students come together for a common purpose and build closer relationships with one another through it all," Davis said. "We look forward to next year." Thank you to all of the students, teachers and coachers who participated and your generous hearts. Hoops 4 Hope has raised close to $10,000 this year from four Frisco ISD middle schools.
- Keller Williams: On Thursday, May 9, 10 Keller Williams' associates donated their time serving at the Food Pantry and Frisco Resale as a part of Keller Williams' RED (Renew, Energize and Donate) Day. Each year, on the second Thursday in May, tens of thousands of associates from across the United States and Canada participate in a wide range of projects, devoting their time to renewing and energizing aspects of the neighborhoods in which they serve. Thank you so much for your commitment to helping those in Frisco who are in need!
- Grande Communications: On Saturday, April 27, four selected client families enjoyed a Kids Day at Dr Pepper Ballpark, which included a fun field event with the Frisco RoughRiders. Tickets were given to the agency from Grande Communications as a part of Grande's ongoing Community Ticket Program. Here is a note from a family that attended:"Today was an absolute blast! Thank you so much for helping make my son's birthday special. He's had a rough year. This was such a wonderful event." Thank you Grande for your continued partnership with FFS!
- Shawnee Trail PTA: The PTA organized a spring book fair and chose FFS as the charity to receive the donations the students made to the All for Books program. The students donated $400 worth of books that will be distributed to FFS clients during the Back-to-School program. Thank you Shawnee Trail PTA and students for this wonderful donation which will make our Back-to-School program even better!
- Run Like a Mother: Thank you to Run Like a Mother organizers and runners who donated to FFS at Run Like a Mother's annual 5K on Saturday, May 11 in Frisco Square. We were so excited to be a part of this great event that furthers women's health across the nation.

Sandy Shell, our Assistant Volunteer Services Coordinator (a volunteer position), was nominated for the Junior League of Collin County, Excellence in Service Awards in the category of Community Leader Award - Individual. Sandy provides the Volunteer Services Manager along with other FFS staff, critical administrative support by responding to general inquiries about volunteer opportunities, scheduling and conducting volunteer orientations, efficiently updating and preparing volunteer information packets, representing FFS at community events and corporate job fairs, and providing agency tours to potential volunteers. Sandy's dedication and passion to the agency is second to none. She goes above and beyond, giving of herself for the sincere desire to help others without recognition and never expecting anything in return. We are so thankful to Sandy and the countless ways she helps further FFS' mission every day.

Name: Karen Cunningham Employer/Profession: Senior Associate, The Hopkins Group, LLC Time on the Board: Since July 2009 Hometown: Natchitoches, LA Family: Husband - Craig, Kids - Avery & Kyle Favorite Hobby: Spending quality time with my family; watching football; soccer mom What motivates me to serve in my community? I enjoy serving others and giving back to my community. I feel that organizations need people who are willing to give their time and energy to making this world a better place. I know that I have been blessed in many ways and feel a commitment to pay it forward. It's an honor to be able to serve. If I could write a book the title would be: Adventures of an Aspiring Servant Leader If I could be any animal: I would be a dog because they do such a great job of giving unconditional love. Best advice I have received: You don't need a title to be a leader. Favorite Movie: Grease If I had more hours in my day I would: Spend more time enjoying the little things in life, play more, read more, volunteer more.
